UW/UX Fuse Designathon – Scoop: Sustainable Ride-Sharing App

As part of a collaborative team effort for the UW/UX Fuse Designathon, I served as the lead designer for "Scoop," a ride-sharing app designed specifically for students. The app aimed to promote sustainable travel habits by connecting students to events, offering affordable rides, and rewarding eco-conscious actions through scholarships and discounts. This project was our response to the challenge: "How might we empower communities to adopt sustainable habits that reduce environmental impact?"

Unique Contributions:

Collaborative Design Process:

I worked closely with a dynamic team, ensuring the app’s design and features reflected the collective vision while maintaining a focus on the user. Regular feedback loops allowed us to refine ideas and integrate innovative solutions throughout the process.

Branding with Purpose:

I developed a visually compelling and cohesive brand identity for Scoop, balancing sustainability themes with a modern, student-friendly aesthetic. Vibrant colors, clean layouts, and intuitive typography ensured the app was both attractive and functional.

User-Focused UX/UI Design:

My designs emphasized clarity and accessibility, creating an engaging and intuitive interface. Key features included seamless ride booking, gamified point tracking, and personalized event recommendations, all crafted to simplify and enhance the user experience.

Reward-Driven Innovation:

I conceptualized and designed the app’s points-based rewards system, which incentivized sustainable travel by offering tangible benefits like scholarships and discounted rides. This gamification element motivated users to adopt eco-conscious habits.

Team Synergy:

Beyond design, I collaborated with teammates on brainstorming, research, and presentation strategies, ensuring the final product was well-rounded and aligned with the challenge's objectives.
